As the days are getting colder here in Michigan, I am always looking for a quick and warm breakfast to start my day. As a mom who is running around like a mad woman most mornings, any breakfast I have has to be portable or easily prepped for work. Luckily I found an easy option that wins in yummy taste and convenience! This breakfast is super easy to make and tastes so yummy, too! Check out my experience with Quaker Miller's Batch here! Hint: It's so good!

While we are all super busy in the mornings, it doesn’t mean that you or I should sacrifice quality when it comes to enjoying breakfast. This past week I’ve been enjoying the new Miller’s Batch by Quaker hot cereal. A warm breakfast makes even the coolest fall days seem cozy. Even with these rainy & gloomy Michigan days started feeling brighter eating the Miller’s Batch instead of skipping out on breakfast. Totally guilty of “being too busy” to take care of myself. When Quaker asked to me to let them know about my experience with the Canadian Prairie option of the hot cereal, I jumped at the chance to add some new interest into my morning routine. I picked up Miller’s Batch at Kroger in the organic aisle. If you live in Michigan or Colorado, you should be able to find it very quickly. Add it to your grocery list this weekend when you are shopping. I found it in the hot cereal section.

With the new Miller’s Batch, you’ll find a quick and premium hot cereal breakfast. The oats are organic and sourced from a single farm in the golden prairies of Saskatchewan, home to some of the best quality oats in the world.  Quaker carefully chose a thicker oat flake for a heartier texture that preserves the integrity of the oat. Once grown, their Canadian Prairie oats are expertly milled and flaked to perfection between two steel rollers, before making it to your table.

My first impression with the Miller’s Batch was that the oats were super thick. This wasn’t a hot cereal that I was used to eating. I chose the Canadian Prairie option so that I could add-in any berries or nuts that were on sale at the grocery store last week. This morning I added in banana slices and a bit of brown sugar. While I had to cook the oats, I simply heated them up as we were finishing up in the morning. It didn’t take much time at all and I was happy at how well it tasted– despite me still doing all the the things needed in the morning. The taste? It was amazing. I’m pretty sure I was smiling while eating because the kids insisted that I share. 🙂 If you don’t have time to throw in a handful of your own add-ins, Quaker Miller’s Batch offers two other versions of the hot cereal called Rocky Mountain Harvest and California Valley. The Rocky Mountain Harvest has the same great oats and also has tart yet sweet organic Montgomery cherries grown in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Utah. The California Valley selection has hand-harvested raisins and sun-dried almonds from California’s Central Valley.

It’s great to have an easy warm breakfast in the mornings and know that I am eating a healthy option. Diets rich in whole grain foods and other plant foods and low in saturated fat and cholesterol may help reduce the risk of heart disease. Enjoying breakfast as a busy mom on the run can be really easy! Snag your own Quaker Miller’s Batch and enjoy a few moments of yummy goodness for yourself!
