Air Fryer Jalapeño Poppers Ingredients

  • Fresh Jalapeño Peppers: The base of this snack, offering just the right level of heat.
  • Cream Cheese: Softened for easy mixing, it adds creamy texture and balances the spice.
  • Cheddar Cheese: Choose sharp cheddar for that bold cheesy flavor.
  • Salt and Pepper: Simple seasoning to enhance the other flavors.
  • Garlic Powder and Onion Powder: These pantry staples round out the filling with a little extra savory flavor.

How To Make Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers

  • Start by slicing your jalapeños in half lengthwise and carefully removing the seeds and ribs. This is where most of the heat lives, so scrape thoroughly if you want a milder bite.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat your softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, and stir until combined.
  • Fill each jalapeño half with a generous amount of the cream cheese filling, smoothing it out evenly. Wrap each stuffed jalapeño with a slice of bacon. Use a toothpick if necessary to secure the bacon.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • Place the wrapped jalapeños in the basket in a single layer—this is key for even cooking. Lightly spray the tops and air fry for 15 minutes or until the bacon is golden brown and crispy. Let cool slightly and serve warm.

Pro Tips for Best Results

  • Use gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid irritation from the oils. (I learned the hard way when I made salsa for the first time in Arizona back in 2006!)
  • Try different cheeses: Mix in Pepper jack adds extra heat; mozzarella keeps it mild and gooey into your cream cheese mixture.
  • Keep a paper towel handy to blot any excess grease before serving.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat in the air fryer to maintain crispiness.

These bacon-wrapped poppers hit all the right notes: crunchy, creamy, spicy, and salty. Whether you’re hosting or just need something fun and easy for your family, this air fryer jalapeño popper recipe is a win.
